The days are getting shorter and colder. I have been struggling a little bit to have energy. I love going to bed at 10 pm and I´ve not been able to wake up at 7 am, I am trying to respect and follow my Circadian Cycle, but have not succeeded (yet)... I don't know, it's like my body is telling me to pause for a second, it is telling me that summer is really gone, that fall is almost at the end, and that its time to be more present, more with myself, thoughts, and in a “caterpillar” to be reborn. I have been trying to do it, but also trying to have the energy to do the things I need to do.
That's why this week I have been connecting with Ylang Ylang. And it is funny because when I did my aromatherapy course and had to connect with it, as in; sleep with it, wake up with it and use it in my body oil, I didn´t like it at all. It was too sweet, too intense. They say that sometimes what you don´t really like is what you are in need of (in the case of food/herbs/scents). So maybe that's why I wasn't a big fan at the time...
Some months ago, I decided I needed a little bit more of its energy around me to feel inspired and with the desire to dream, to make things happen, to wake up, exercise, eat healthy… So I created a perfume with Ylang Ylang and 2 other essential oils that have been incredible to give me the little “push” I need.
Ylang Ylang is a flower ruled by Venus and has the Ying polarity. It is an antidepressant, it calms the nervous system, and it's recommended for insomnia.
It stimulates our senses, it's a good flower to be close to when we want to be intimate, with ourselves or with others.
It attracts light and helps you get power from inside you, it enhances your potential and brings your energy to the surface.
Ylang Ylang represents water as an element, it's all about emotions, it brings fluidity, purification, sensitivity.
A little simple ritual I have been doing:
(When I feel ready mentally and physically to exercise in the morning)
Put a song on (I have been loving this one, to get into the mood.
Roll my yoga mat while I spray my Ylang ylang perfume (it's going to be available soon to sell!), take some deep breaths with my eyes closed, and visualize what I want to achieve on the day.
Do yoga, I have been loving these videos by a South African yogui, they are playful, fluid, strong, flexible, and everything I want to make my body feel its best.
I am really excited to be sharing my herbal/nature love with you guys! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!
If you want me to talk about any plant/herb/essential oil send me a message or email me!
See you next week!
Dani.
